MISSION
Kirby Dar Dar Foundation

Kirby Dar Dar Foundation Mission is to help the Youth of Central New York acheive their greatest potential.

The Kirby Dar Dar Football Camp is only the first step to building on the concept of creating an all-season program specifically designed to engage at-risk youth to build relationships with positive adult role models. The program will provide disadvantaged youth with athletic and educational programming that will enhance their physical as well  as emotional well-being within a safe and nurturing environment. Both programs will engage the most difficult to serve youth (including those already ejected from other community programs because of their poor attitudes and behavior).

The camp, as an off-season training opportunity, will provide young athletes with a physical regimen as well as a competitive edge for playing and preventing injury when the next season begins.

The heart of the camp is learning techniques and skills for immediate application. The drills are designed to emphasize both individual and collective non-contact instructions. Skill areas to be covered include:   blocking, kicking, passing/  receiving, agility, line play, shedding the block, two and three point stance, secondary coverage, and  turnover opportunities.

Safety for the participants is a number one priority, so each athlete will be cleared by their physician to participate in  this activity. The physical environment of the playfield to be used for the camp has been evaluated by Kirby Dar Dar and  approved for this activity.  Professional security and  a qualified emergency medical technician will also be provided for the camp.

Youth football is an excellent way to motivate children an teens to be active. As a result, they develop a sense of  sportsmanship, self-worth and responsibility. This activity also teaches them what it means to be part of and accepted  by a team other than a gang. It provides them with professional-level coaching and valuable mentoring opportunities.  Youth football builds on skills on and off-field. This activity can involve and interest caregivers as well, and provides  opportunity to make friends and for having fun. Off-season professional coaching opportunities such as this  supplements on-season coaching and gives young athletes an edge by developing an off-season routine that is safe and effective for football.

I was taught that the greatest gift I would ever acquire would be a good education.  It is with that lesson in mind, that I created the All DarDar Team.

The All DarDar Team is made up of a group of individuals who attend the Kirby DarDar Football Camp, and maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher throughout the school year.

The 2008 All DarDar Team was made up of 19 individuals who were acknowledged through out the year for excelling in academics.

A group of the All DarDar Team was highlighted at the Syracuse University Football Game against Akron on September 5, 2008 for there excellence in education and being positive role models for our youth. After taking a tour of the Syracuse Carrier Dome, and watching the football game, the All DarDar Team honored S.U. Head Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim, for his examplary participation in the 2008 Olympics that won gold.

In addition, all of the members of the All DarDar Team received a back to school package that consisted of a backpack filled with various school supplies, in September, followed by another package of school supplies in January, after the Christmas break to encourage the kids to stay focused and have a great school year.

We would like to thank The CNY Community Foundation for supporting and enhancing our educational initiative to improve the quality of life in our community.

We would also like to thank Sam's Club Syracuse NY, Staples Dewitt, NY and all of our other supporters, all of the teachers, staff, sponsors, community volunteers and a special thanks to the parents for giving us the privilege of working with you and your kids. We are honored to see the impact that we have made in your lives. We appreciate all of your feedback as well as all of the letters of appreciation from you all.

To Mr. Dar Dar, his staff and his biggest supporter his wife.
I say Hello and THANK YOU ALL. For the support and encouragement you all
have shown and given to my son David. I came home from work on
Thursday to this HUGE box of school supplies, pens, book bag, graphing
paper, notebooks all the basic things that David would need to start
the 8th grade. I just want to let you Mr. Dar Dar and your organization
know how much I appreciate the support and concern, again I say THANK
YOU. And to you Mark, thank you personally for looking out for him for me.
Cordially,
Betty

Dear Mr. Dar Dar and Family,
We will always remember the feeling of being “privileged” and “special”- going to an S.U. football game with Mr. Kirby DarDar! We will always remember going through the pressurized doors, getting to see the players inside the tunnel, and walking on the S.U. field with thousands of screaming fans.  Yesterday, dad came home with two huge boxes - one for each of us. Thank you for the tons of school supplies and the awesome rolling backpacks, which we have enjoyed stuffing! Thank you again.

Sincerely,
TimothyII and Theodore.

Dear Mr. Dar Dar,
I would like to again thank you for your generosity to my class and to all the children you took to the Syracuse University basketball game.  My class and I will not soon forget this wonderful gesture.  The way you spoke to the children about your journey certainly will inspire many of them to keep on track and pursue their dreams.  I wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,
Mr. Shuman

Congratulations to the 2008 All DarDar Team, you all should be very proud,
Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Kirby DarDar
